Introduction

The Happy Village Project will be the most important Community Service Project during the Governorship of Rtn.RVN.Kannan during 2018-'19.Revenue District-wise coordinators to support you will be appointed soon and intimation will be sent through proper channels.The structural framework for the project initiatives will be common so that their implementation will be better focused and the outcome will be tangible and quantifiable.The Happy Village Project will be continuously monitored by the District Committee and proper reports are to be shared by the Rotary Clubs.

HAPPY VILLAGE – Parameters in identifying the right village

  • A village or hamlet which has less than 500 households.(OR)
  • A village or hamlet that has a population of less than 2000 people.

Survey of the Village

A baseline survey should be taken based on the Census Data to find out the exact population that is to be served.

The following information is required.

  1. Village name
  2. Male & Female population
  3. Population of children between 0 and 6 years
  4. Elderly population
  5. Unemployed population

How to build an effective team

  1. Make this a major focus project for the year and appoint a Club Level Officer to liaison with the Zone Level Officer.
  2. Include Happy Village in the strategic plan of your club.
  3. Financial support may be obtained from CSR and District Grants.
  4. All the avenues of Rotary service projects may be done through Happy Village
  5. The Club Level and Zonal Level Officers of the Happy Village Project will help identify Local or Regional Organizations/Institutions/NGOs who can extend their help for this project.
  6. The Rotary Clubs can also implement the project through an RCC if they have one or they should start one immediately.
